On February 06, 2025, members of the High Qualification Comission of Judges of Ukraine Mykhailo Bohonis and Nadiia Kobetska met with lawyers in Lviv to discuss the selection of judges to local courts.
During the Questions and Answers session, key aspects of the judicial selection procedure were discussed. Members of the Commission explained to the participants the sequence of the selection process, detailed the requirements for candidates, and presented the measures taken by the Commission to organize the selection of local court judges.
The main questions of the participants concerned the specifics of preparing, processing and submitting documents for participation in the selection process. Participants were also interested in the timing, procedure and requirements for the qualification exam and its individual stages.
This meeting was the first in a series of regional events organized by the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine in partnership with the Ukrainian Bar Association aimed at informing potential candidates about the process of selecting judges to local courts. The next event was held in Dnipro on February 08. On February 11, lawyers will be able to meet the Commission members in Kharkiv, on February 21 in Odesa, and on
February 28 in Kyiv.
It should be reminded that in December 2024, the Commission announced the selection of judges to local courts with a projected number of 1,800 vacancies. The deadline for submitting an application and documents for participation in the selection is from March 01, 2025, to
March 30, 2025 (inclusive). The period for submission of documents for military personnel is from March 01 to May 01, 2025 (inclusive).
